Dropped by daiso today to buy plastics for the doujin and FINALLY bought a postcard file. I thought i'd just have a few to slot (slotted my postcards and bookmarks) but my collection (postcard only) filled about 40 pages i think!

i still keep obscure things like manda's first ever ff7 chibi merchandise back at the time when i disliked fanarts but found myself being a sucker for them (OHOHOHO yes i was enlightened). And even more obscure... i have manda's ffx-2 chibis! Have no recollection how i got them lol. I think some of the stuff were from my earliest events, including watzat : D. I think by now many probably want to erase evidence of the past lol. Having collected most of my own stuff, i sure do * A *. 'EWW the lines are wacked!!!' 'the cg is so damn mouldy!!!!' 'omg *justdies* DID I SELL THIS??? SOMEONE BOUGHT IT?!?!?!' yup. thus is my trauma. XD However i strongly believe that this is all part of learning... doing what you do, accountable for your own decisions and mistakes and moving on. So go sell ~~crappy~~ stuff EVERYONE!!!

As for A4 prints, some of the rare ones include coylime's first few A4 print @_@. and stuff from back when people sold photocopied paper! Haha wings calendars which i was collecting too >D;;. A..and stuff from back when manda (i did so too la :D) used photo with filters for backgrounds.. >D. HMMM why dont i have that hardcore yaoi ones she did? DAMN. Such good memories >D. It's quite sad that i dont get to see some of these artists selling their stuff casually anymore tho Y u Y. By now, i'd probably be capable of affording one of sandara's lovely watercolour works which i regret not getting.

Some of my doujins are missing, i think i lent them to the other company for reference and completely forgot bout them * A *. I think they thought the doujins were gifts.... NOOOOOO

So yea.. now you guys know why i love buying stuff at events so much, other than the fact that i just love spending. heh. Not really hardcore tho, i buy indiscreetly depending on what i see i like at the spur of the moment Y u Y. Really regret not being hardworking and getting the artists to sign! but still these are my preciousssssssss aca

orz today it happened again and there was no class! so kogata and i sat ard in the sch and reminisized about lots of randomness. I'm secretly happy cause looks like this isnt my last trip there. Ok, dont start dragging me off to some crazy hospital but i find it therapeutic to face screaming not-listening kids now and then. Also, its come to a point where this little time is getting to be the only hour i get to remember i'm a comic artist at 'work' (its not in my office tho).

gawds i hate the new office layout to little bits of dust specks and microbes and molecules and electons and nanotrons megatrons tyrannosaurons. (????????????????)

[edit] tsk. what did i say? Just when i was about to finally take out my sketchbook to work on the comic project i tried to hard to not let seize to exist, mundane extra work comes in after some (empty)talk about allocating half the day to working on comics. And u wonder why i am completely without faith.

oh such a sweet dream. i dreamt i had a money cage machine thing and i was in this world of gold (with manda, who had a sexy figure.). While manda had a cage too she was going to win some beauty contest LOL, so bored and alone, i started gatherinng gold. There was this pillow with a golden chain link armour as a casing and i let my money cage absorb everything (i just have to put the gold on the surface of the money cage and it'd be automatically added to the value. Very much like the way a katamari works. Anyways so i kept rolling my katamari money cage over lots and lots of gold and eventually the cage turned into a purse. I opened the purse to check out what i'd rolled.

1. a million dollar note........................................................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2. A portable marble money making device *_* It was really classic looking and pretty. All you had to do is insert money paper at one end and spin the knob and money will emerge from the other end!

This dream must have arised from me cg-ing gold coins for some CNY thing yesterday and trying to device a plan on how to go to anime expo wihout having to sell my kidney haha.

-kogata was with me at CF and she went on stage to tell a joke about gintoki with 4 hands O O

i'd just like to say as much as i'm trying to control my outburst, it doesnt mean you can take me granted. As a worker, or as a friend or just an acquaintance, whichever. I notice when people come to me only for help or questions and then ignore me once they think i'm not needed. Then? Suddenly people come prancing back to me when in need of help again or when they have no one else to talk to. Seriously, what do you take me for? Do you take me for a stupid person who will still want to be helpful and friendly after you give me shit? No. i'm pissed. i've had enough of this shit.

haha fail is you when you start out wanting to draw gakupo and ending with a hatsune miku sketch. OTL. So yea... i ended up drawing hatsune miku, shd be gd for special effects cg practice! I'll get to drawing gackpoid one day >DDD Perhaps when theres more PVs to inspire me haha.

Anyways i think i ought to draw gakupo and kuja together sharing make up tips.

anyways i watched jumper and chocolate today.

Chocolate is a good watch i feel. Very fast paced fighting scenes, a bit too much but still interesting nonetheless. Its a painful to watch tho. An autistic girl who has no sense of danger is fighting in areas like a wet market and ice carving factory. *shudders*. Different fighting styles used by Zen was also really interesting to watch. One of her opponents used a style that i think is the one Mugen from samurai champloo adapted from. Imagine seeing it in the anime was cool enough, but in live action *_***. Wish that part lasted slightly longer!

AND now... Jumper. I passionately scolded the main character through the second half of the show. Hello, no sense of priority until damn serious loh! For example. They are just seconds away from formidable maniatical bad guy coming. What do they do? Engage in teeny banter because he doesnt know how to tell his girlfriend about his *talent*. WTF! Oh, even better. What do you do after u almost get killed by formidable bad guy with equipment to destroy you? Ans: Go back to your hometown and take your crush on a holiday to Rome. WTF! thats sums up my idea of the show hahaha. The movie is pretty scenic tho, get to see different parts of the world! Hell, if i could teleport most of my dreams have come true *_*.

something got me suddenly reflecting on my artwork progress the previous months. I Think office environment plays an extremely big part in a designer's progress. I realised, it was only when the other studio stepped in did my motivation to learn get sparked. I didnt realise it but now that they are gone, i start to see how i have been absorbing all the little tips they dropped randomly or whispered (ohoho) amongst themselves. In the length of time, i picked up painter and indesign simultaneously, studied colour coordination and composition. How do i put it, it seems to be just the most casual and natural thing to do, to pick everything up and seek improvement. Tho i didnt really feel it then, i started realising it when i'm suddenly right back to being downright irritated again. It doesnt help that the office layout now sucks to the core inspite of my gentle suggestions that it sucks to the core having people staring at my back. I dont feel like touching those reference books anymore. Previously, i let my mind follow the direction of the other company, now where is it going? No idea.

My worst fear is skill stagnation again, whether its going to happen naturally or as a self fulfilling prophecy.

went for a scary birthday dinner for my brother's birthday yesterday since he is such an utter durian freak. A durian dessert buffet. It was.. so hardcore. There was durian cake which was delicious. Then they had durian pudding which is literally just a pool of durian creamy stuff and pulp. No different from drinking durian. Durian Boboh chacha, durian muffins, durian crepe, durian kweh... gawds it was death by durian! OTL i'm traumatised.

Anyways on with cosfest! Haha... those whoa are interested in checking out the stuff i bought can chk out my deviantart journal XD.

looks like the back-to-back two days of cosfest is an improvement. The crowd was way more interesting. I'm not too sure about the stage performances tho! I'm sure there were some potentially good items, but somehow they didnt fall through (such as the thai concept artist. It seems his tablet didnt have the driver installed and his was trying to do realistic painting. i.. totally understand why he sounded so frustrated now XDD i bet kiyo and gang too lol). But he still managed anyway *_*.

Unlike the previous years there's also so much more to be bought. I'm so happy. It's like i've made up for all the years of leaving empty handed from events! Yayy my merchandise collection finally increase in the singapore section XDD. Met many amazing artists from DA. I seriously felt like a kid in a candy store wahahahaha (only less sinful XD). Er......

Merchandise sales was also good, i thought i had overkilled with the A3 prints since most of the time no one buys them and i only sell one or two. But it actually sold out!! omg Thank you... whoever you are out there somewhere Y_YYY. Same with A4 prints. I think i under printed some of them because some were sold out after half the first day. Printed less than ten each cause the response last year was so horrible i thought no one buys prints anymore > <. Shd also have printed extra to give away too orz. Doujin also sold better than expected so THANK YOUUU to those who bought it!! I'm really inspired to do another one now! Y u Y this time less weird yup (wait turn out more weird : D).

random observations...

The first person who is not someone i know who bought my doujin is an indian guy. Interestingly he bought it after browsing! : D. After that i decided to promote the doujin to both male and female alike lol (yes, i started out being discriminating and expecting guys to totally cringe at the amusing slight shonenai hint... ~~tho they are just friends!~~).

Compared to all my other stuff and female populated customers, most of the pple who bought pepper prints are guys! and it sold off fastest o o. Most of the A3 were gone within the first half of day one. Hmmmm maybe i shd betray bishonen and go over to the drawing females camp : DDDD.

There isnt much gyakuten saiban merchandise orz. The only person i know is making it other than myself didnt make it in time and neither did i. Y_Y. My brother told me he saw Von karma and a well endowed feenie tho! * A * why didnt i notice anyone with "TAKE THAT!" sign at all? so sad.

About 3 people asked if my dolls were for sale. One of which wanted to grab kiyt but got stopped in time. However it was okay overall, not too annoying ^^.

And lastly, i must remind myself to keep sketch commissions to the minimal especially if my bed time the previous night was 4am orz.

After day 2 of cosfest we dropped by sakachan's chalet. It looks really cosy (and makes getting one next year appealing haha). Anyways thank you so much for the food and invitation! I feel mildly guilty for not cooking anything (i didnt even turn the satay like lian haha) so am really grateful to eat a filling meal XD. As usual our topic took a strange turn. But octopus would have been a bit too much lol. having grown up helping my mother with cooking live crab and accompanying her to chinatown's wet market (its closed down now i think) where i see live slaughter of turtles, pidgeons, frogs, eels and enormous fish, ahahaha i'm quite desensitized. I can think of their suffering, but there's this mindset mode that i can sort of switch to where i see them as food. Its mostly only watching them in cramped captivity that bugs me haha, cause its most unnatural > <. Weird ways of killing as well... like the way they eat monkey brains *shudder*

and so... i purposely decided to reuse the deathnote print for a postcard so i have a set of 4 and can sell for "buy 4 get 1 free". Then i happily layout. After burning my discs i realised... if buy 4 get 1 free, 4 + 1 = 5 right???? : D Oh yay. my brains just deteriorated beyond primary school maths (actually i think this is pre primary!)

hi guys, updating from work as my house internet is down. At such a crucial time too! I don't know if its good or bad cause this means i cant multitask no more. But this also means i cant research anything online! ah well!

Dropped by the toys and comics convention with kogata and i must say it is hopeful. I do enjoy looking at designer toys but sadly it was too crowded for browsing. It's not exactly really exciting, afterall it is a more generalistic convention. However, to see this many people interested is promising. It also brings a few associations and companies to light when they would have otherwise been awfully quiet and unknown. However only a few comic companies are there tho. Saw zero and noah kh's booth (with saltology demonstrating on the to-die-for cintiq omgomg!!!! Your job is such a dream!), Sonny liew's booth (which 'doesn't exist' LOL, if i got the booth name right), IFS, CDS, the comic artist association (sry i keep confusing the names >_<), Celestial zone (hmmmm 77 star is going to animate celestial zone sia), Gempak starz (they are recruiting! *_*), chuang yi (where i bought an artbook for half price), and some familiar looking names and familiar looking art. Hopefully there'll be more the next time they hold such an event! Maaybe doujin artists can share a booth next time? lol >D. Anyways the only freebie i got was a water bottle courtesy of gempak starz hahahaha so sad. XD

on with other things i've kinda caught a flu from SOMEONEEE *eyes tsukushi* XD. nooo heal soon! I want to KTV at full force!!! *_*

wow, if anyone tells me i'm lucky, i'm going to show you the middle finger. Seriously, i think 90% of my life's effort is put into fighting bad luck LOL

YESTERDAY i just knew something would go wrong when i went to print the doujin and LO! The printing shop cant read my disc. I checked it before i left too. It turned out that they cant read DVD r for some reason. Fortunately i gave them two discs today just to play safe. BAD LUCK YOU CANT GET TO ME! Anyways i'm so not surprised because murphy's law plagues me. YAY.

it doesnt end there. Since i now have to email them the file, i got home and got to it. guess what? At that moment MY MODEM WENT BUSTED!! Completely and entirely busted. I called a friend to ask if i could just drop by and use the computer to send the bloody file (she no need do anything) and i dont know what she heard, but i assumed she must have heard me wrong but she said cannot for dunno why YAY! I couldnt be bothered to clarify any more so i just.. well actually i was so emo i was amused and was in a good mood after 1 minute of emoing or so because MY BAD LUCK IS SO AMUSING!!!!!!

SCREW U BAD LUCK GOD (whatever that is) *show middle finger* I HAVE FIVE BACKUP FILES IN 5 DISCS and two kinds of discs now so YOU CAN'T GET ME! Even if you do the bermuda triangle trick on my PC and make my files disappear, backups will KHEEL YOU! the printer cant read my dvd when my dad passed it to her this morning BUT HAHA! I MADE TWO AND SHE CAN READ MY CDR!

sigh... i'm starting to get rather depressed from people telling me my stuff reminds them of this and that. Next round i'd try to put more thought into things to be as unique as possible, but truthfully... there is no end to it. no matter how hard you think of a concept. Something else will be similar whether you have encountered that *something else* or not. Tho in this case its not like a very new concept or anything.

after tsu told me about gorgeous carat i went to check it out and was like... fuckkk. Why didnt i check it out before when she recommended the manga to me?!?! URGHH so i could stop myself before i finished everything and soon everyone is going to be telling me the same thing! URGHH! why of all the scans i read i dont READ THIS ONE!!! FUCK!!!!

i'm also curious... am i the only artist who has 'i'm afraid my work might look like something else' paranoia? I just need to know if i'm being overly paranoid about this or not. Everytime i find out something else looks like my work i'd turn to totally hate that work (of mine). i dont know Y_Y. Or is it that everyone just has a way of carefreely coming out with an idea and it will be original. Then i am cursed and i shd quit this line seriously.

today is utterly phail. I officially stressed out in the office that very moment the boss piled stuff on top of the work i currently have which i dont even know i can finish. The period of stressed-ness lasted till home. I finally acknowledged its existance when i started to throw things around while feeling pleasantly good tempered. : D oh my god!! So yea. When i reached home i decided to take a break. However my plans for a break was so systematic it doesnt help. Finally, i de-stressed by doing some simple work- namely adding shades to the easier to do doujin pages haha.

So in light of everything, i failed to finish my TOTC project and am begging for an extension. I've also not rendered the lineart for my doujin cover at all and cannot post it on DA for announcing the doujin. Also, i am completely unable to focus on anything else. Poor MEW, so neglected Y_Y.

since its to crappy to post in DA for now, here's the cover page illustration for my upcoming doujin released at cosfest- 'Kleptomania'! Actually its just half the cover page (the background flows over to the other side).

I'm really crossing my fingers with this project- it being rather 'testing the market'. But nonetheless, i do need to work on some comics for practice! > < As long as nothing major crops out i think it shd be able to make it for cosfest XD.
